The old Course Action Request (CAR) and TRUCK systems are now shut down, and course requests will go through CourseLeaf moving forward. That system is not yet live, but it should be up the week of August 18-22. Stayed tune for more information.
The Common Curriculum requires both breadth and depth in the courses that students take. Students can either 'go deep' by taking three courses in one TOI, or they can complete a faculty-developed Theme. If you have an idea for a Theme, submit a proposal.
I need help with my syllabus.
For your reference, we've provided a Common Curriculum syllabus template developed by CETL that we recommend using. This page also contains a syllabus checklist, and sample syllabi should be coming soon.
In our transition to the Common Curriculum, we are emphasizing the need for strong Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) can help.
By nature, the Common Curriculum should be accessible to all students, so help us make your course accessible by using the resources available from the CETL.
